Gold
Coast Theme Parks
Australia's Gold Coast is amazing - you can stroll with a Bengal
tiger, swim with dolphins and defy the laws of gravity, all before
lunch!
It doesn't where you're from, how old you are or what you like to
do, the Gold Coast has an amazing range of attractions to make your
visit unforgettable. And when it comes to theme parks, the Gold
Coast is Australia's theme park capital. It contains more
attractions than anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere, and
includes the longest, fastest, highest and most exciting thrill
rides in the country. Even better, mixed in with all the thrills and
excitement of the theme parks, there's the opportunity for unique
animal experiences, something which helps to make these theme parks
stand out from the crowd.
It's hard to know where to start, but how about Warner Bros. Movie
World? If you want to feel like a star, this is the place to go. If
thrills are what you're after, check out the rides like Lethal
Weapon, Wild West Falls and the Scooby-Doo Spooky coaster to get
your heart pumping. There's plenty for the younger family members to
do too, with Looney Tunes Village, where you can get lost in a world
of fun and fantasy with all your Looney Tunes favourites.
Sea World is just as exciting, but also quite different. It blends
together entertainment with an opportunity to explore the marine
environment. You can touch marine life wonders, watch spectacular
shows, and enjoy the exciting rides and attractions such as Shark
Bay. The polar bear exhibition has been a huge favourite with
visitors, and the polar bear cubs are a favourite with kids of all
ages. You can also learn more about the endangered dugong in the
interactive journey of the Dugong Discovery Exhibit.
Queensland's number one attraction is Dreamworld, and there's no
need to wonder why. It's an action packed adventure for the whole
family. It has some of the fastest and tallest rides in the world,
including the latest adrenaline buzz, The Claw. The younger ones
will enjoy Nick Central, with loads of family fun and 16 different
rides and attractions. If you want to experience the wild side,
watch the rare Bengal tigers at play, or for a more Australian
experience, visit Wildlife Experience to pat a kangaroo, cuddle a
koala, check out a croc up close and perhaps even shear a sheep.
If you're keen to get wet, then Wet'n'Wild Water World is the place
to go. You can be twirled and twisted in the giant Whirlpool, or
experience the thrills and spilled of Terror Canyon II, Mammoth
Falls or Super 8 Aqua Racer. If the weather's a bit chilly, you
might like to relax in the heavenly Whirlpool Hot Spring, and you
can always relax at Calypso Beach. For something a little different,
enjoy a Dive-in Movie in the Giant Wave Pool.
There's a lot more to the Gold Coast than theme parks, but they’re
certainly a good place to start! You can find plenty more excitement
by going bungee jumping, skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding,
abseiling or parasailing, and that's only the beginning. Or, if you
want to continue your discover of the native fauna flora, visit
Currumbin Sanctuary or head for the nearby mountains and hinterland.
